Japan Discovers Rip Offs

Posted by Alexa Leigh at 15:59 0 comments
Not the whole of Japan, actually. Just this one website- japan-discoveries.com

As some of you may know, Versailles has officially gone on hiatus. (Here's a funny thing though- now that they're on hiatus they're receiving more money from me than they ever did before. Isn't it funny how some things work out?) Back to my point... They held their final live before said hiatus at NHK Hall, Tokyo on December 20th, 2012. I heard from a fan I follow on twitter that there were video cameras all over during that live, so naturally I expected a live dvd to be released. And here it is~

(yes I am using their picture since there isn't really another one anywhere)

Anyways, the link Versailles provided to buy this dvd on their website is for local Japanese people only (see here for more info). As an overseas fan I can't really say this is depressing news for me. After a while you just get used to the idea that life will never stop sucking until you move to Asia.

But then, lo and behold, the one website I really don't trust/like announces they have the dvd up for sale! Yes, you heard me. Japan Discoveries was able to put the dvd (as well as a special version with the tour pamphlet) up for international customers. How did they do that? I'd love to know myself. A few of my friends contacted CDJapan to find out if they would be able to sell this dvd too (because, let's face it, CDJapan is basically our lord and saviour. YesAsia is okay too, but CDJapan is way better.) Anyways, CDJapan said that if/when (I believe they said when to be exact)  Versailles decides to release the dvd regularly they will be able to sell it. Okay, I get that.

But how the hell did Japan Discoveries get to list it anyways??

Now, I have never ordered anything from Japan Discoveries. Well, let me rephrase that-- I have never successfully ordered something from Japan Discoveries. In December I tried to order Yuki's "Serafine" necklace and ROSE limited edition from them. THAT WAS THE HARDEST SHOPPING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE.
Not only are their items horribly overpriced, like seriously. Just look at the prices of this dvd, for example-

JAPAN DISCOVERIES                     YMN (website on Versailles' website)
dvd alone - 8000yen                            dvd alone - 6300yen
dvd w/ pamphlet - 12450yen               dvd w/ pamphlet - 9450yen
(information gotten from vpq-usa.blogspot.com)

YOU TELL ME HOW THAT POSSIBLY MAKES SENSE IN ANYONE'S BRAIN. It's honestly no wonder why Japan Discoveries has things available for so long- THEY ARE SO FRIGGING EXPENSIVE. I have seen a lot of people on twitter complain about Japan Discoveries as well, so it's not just me.

..And I have gone off topic. Back to what I was saying....

Besides the extremely expensive prices, I made a mistake concerning my payment method, but I only realised after I placed the order. I emailed them about this, and they told me I had to make another order and then they'd cancel the first one. Well okay, I thought I could do that. WELL BOY WAS I WRONG. They refused to accept my credit card. The exact credit card that was accepted on other websites before and after this particular order. Eventually I got fed up of trying and just wanted to cancel my order. THEY GAVE ME HELL ABOUT THAT TOO. I honestly thought that they weren't going to cancel it. But, after many emails, they finally did. But not before warning me that if I cancelled two more orders in the year that my account would be deleted or some crap??? CDJAPAN NEVER BITCHED ABOUT ME CANCELLING AN ORDER YOU KNOW.

So bottom line, I hate Japan Discoveries and never want to experience their inconvenient shopping experience ever again.

But, here's the complicated part-

I REALLY WANT THIS DVD.

My dad agreed to get me Kamijo's ring for my birthday, but I ended up not ordering it (something I still want to kick myself for). But this dvd (with the Japan Discoveries price) is coming quite close to the ring, so that might work out nicely. I also want Kamijo's calendar, but I want the dvd more. The only thing that has stopped me from ordering the dvd up to now (besides my hatred for this stupid website), is the fact that CDJapan might get to list it in the not too distant future. And then who will be a close-to-broke ass? THIS GIRL. CDJapan said on twitter that they would definitely list it, but I don't know when! And my birthday gift opportunity expires by the end of February, so it's not like I can wait all year.

I honestly don't know what I should do. I have up to February 8th to order it on Japan Discoveries, but I really want CDJapan or Versailles or SOMEONE to say something before then. I also don't want to wait too late so that the dvd somehow gets sold out. What do I do??

I think I'll wait until the first or second of February and then order it. ONLINE SHOPPING SHOULDN'T CAUSE THIS MUCH STRESS.

But on a happier note- Kamijo announced the start of his solo activities in the summer! He will be a solo artist, and he is in the process of recording songs for an album. He is working together with Lareine and Versailles members! Apparently the ballad he already composes is extremely beautiful! I can't wait to hear it.  AND HE SAID HE'LL WORK HARD SO HE WON'T BE ASHAMED WHEN VERSAILLES RESUMES. HE LITERALLY SAID THEY'LL BE BACK. I HAVE FAITH IN HUMANITY AGAIN.

Speaking of Versailles- what's going on with their "Best Live" dvd? Is anyone buying it? Are we boycotting it due to possible exploitation of my absolute favourite band in the entire world? Should I somehow scrape up money for that too? (luckily for me there are frequent shopper points so that shouldn't be too hard).

Meanwhile my copy of Anthologie shipped this morning! I got the "magical" edition, so I'm really excited! Wednesday needs to hurry up and get here..

And before I go, special mention to the GazettE's THE DECADE live! I got the dvd for my birthday and I have been blown away ever since! It was an absolutely perfect, stunning, sdjhsdfuhseoide-filled live! Well done, guys! I look forward to seeing what you have in store for us in 2013!

SHUT UP STUPID HEARTBREAKING SHOW THAT SOUNDS LIKE IT WILL BE SWEET AND CUTE AND HAPPY BUT REALLY STABS YOU IN THE HEART MULTIPLE TIMES WITHIN THE SECOND EPISODE

Posted by Alexa Leigh at 17:26 0 comments
So earlier this week I decided to watch Shut Up Flower Boy Band. With my past few experiences with kdramas, I expected it to be the usual romance with some comedy and maybe a few serious scenes in between.

WELL BOY WAS I WRONG.

Let me tell you about this show whose title is totally misleading just by the way. In the first episode, if you're anything like me, you'll immediately love the person you assume is the main character- Joo Byung Hee.

Just look at him. Pretty, talented, impulsive, badass, caring and slightly off. What's not to love?

Anyways, he'll mention his "muse" a few times and get into a few fights. You know, usual things. Episode one is actually really good- an otp for me was born, a concert was held, fights were won and everything was perfect.

THEN EPISODE TWO JUST HAD TO COME AROUND AND RUIN EVERYTHING.

The majority of the episode was enjoyable, so I won't focus on those details. I would like to talk about the end, however.
(I don't know anyone else's names so I'm sorry but I really don't care right now)
Towards the end, Byung Hee (who I was completely in love with by this time) earned some extra points by agreeing to meet some ass from his new school who destroyed their drum set and then promised to get them a new one out of pride. The only condition was that he ha to go alone.
Now who couldn't tell what was going to happened next?
As predicted, he (like a completely kindhearted idiot) went all alone and was met with a group of people waiting to beat the shit out of him. But he, like the badass he is, managed to throw a few punches himself, and managed to escape (with a bloody face but hey, at least he was okay).
Now, all the assholes were looking for him, and he was TRYING to call his friend (WHO WAS TOO DAMN BUSY TALKING TO THE FUCKING MUSE GIRL TO ANSWER HIS FUCKING PHONE), but the stupid friend didn't answer until after he and the fucking girl had a stupid heart to heart, killing my otp feels.
Anyways, when he FINALLY got Byung Hee's message, he gathered the others and they went looking for him. Now, if they had went earlier they would have found him and carried him home and everything would have been hunky dory. However, when they finally managed to find the dazed, almost unconscious Byung Hee, he was walking across the road when he noticed them and stopped to acknowledge them. Then BAM. A truck or bus or something hits him.

END OF EPISODE.

Now the assholes were saying earlier in the episode that if Byung Hee beat them up he'd get expelled or something. But did they get expelled for indirectly causing his DEATH?? I believe not!

I have not watched episode three yet, but I read what happens on Wikipedia and apparently the new leader of the band (the stupid friend Byung Hee literally died for) falls in love with the muse but feels guilty while doing so. YOU BETTER FEEL DAMN GUILTY YOU SON OF A BITCH.

I have decided not to continue watching this show just yet, as I am not emotionally ready to handle this. Maybe some time in the future I'll try to watch it again, but for now I give episode 1 4/5 stars and episode 2 0.7/5 stars. And that 0.7 is only because of Byung Hee and his wonderful self in the episode.

Now I need to wake up at 6am tomorrow, so good night.

HIMYM With A Twist!

Posted by Alexa Leigh at 14:21 0 comments
This post is actually not about HIMYM at all, I'm sorry if I confused you. (side note- new episodes return Monday 14th @ 8pm on CBS!!)

Actually this post is about the kdrama Reply 1997.

yay, my second kdrama~

I can see why this show is so popular. It's story line is quite unique- the entire show is basically a flashback to the final teenage years of Sung Shi Won and her five friends from high school. The creators of this show really did an excellent job making a '90s feel. Hell, Sung Jae was even shown taking care of a Tamagotchi (you know I found mine the other day but I had not batteries so I was sad....)

Anyways, we first see a 33-year-old Shi Won singing karaoke with her parents. Not much has changed with their relationship from when she was 18. She pulls the plug on her father's song because she says it's her turn. Her father tells her not to choose any English songs, but to pick something old. She smiles and picks her long time favourite, Candy by H.O.T.

One reason to love this show (especially in the earlier episodes)- Shi Won's obsession with H.O.T (specifically Tony). You know it's really a great feeling when you can relate to a tv character so much. I might not be as dramatic as Shi Won was, but the feelings are just as genuine. The writers really captured the art of fangirling (if it can even be called an art, haha). I think my favourite scene was either when she went to the concert and was dancing in the crowd, or when the entire fan club was waiting outside the award show. I swear if I lived in the same country as my idol I'd travel all night to see them.

Another thing- if my favourite band broke up and years later I accidentally met my bias while on the job I'd do much more than fall on the floor.

Seriously, this show was simply perfect. I definitely give it 5/5 stars.

In fact this show was so popular they released a book-

And guess what, that book completely sold out on it's first day of release! No wonder, considering that the show won every single award it was nominated for.

Back to the show...

Obviously this show is amazeballs. The plot was very refreshing, the acting was convincing and I was actually satisfied with the ending! (unlike TTBY >_>)

Yes, I was irritated when they kept mentioning her husband and both Yoon Jae and his brother were "conveniently" right next to each other. It's not like we couldn't see who it would be in the end, but it still irritated me! They were almost worse than How I Met Your Mother, lol. I was literally like "FINALLY" in the hospital scene when they finally told us. After that when they were kind of wrapping up everything was what I really enjoyed.

But another thing that irritated me was when they kept showing some scenes over and over again for emphasis I suppose. I really could have gone without that, but whatever. No big deal there.

The only real complaint I have with the show itself is its sometimes confusing flashbacks. There were just so many all over the place I had to pause to make sure of what year I was watching. Most of the flashbacks weren't really confusing though, there were just quite a lot.

And, as in all my otps, Shi Won annoyed me as well! Honestly, Yoon Jae literally kissed her and then a few episodes later she went out with his brother. HIS BROTHER. He irritated me too when he was like "I won't give her up" and crap. WHAT THE HELL, MAN? Stupid Tae Woong.... >_> Not only is that the girl your brother has liked for however many years, she's also you ex-fiancee's SISTER. I'm sorry but I don't see that as a genuine relationship at all. Although I was sort of happy that he didn't end up all alone (like that wasn't predictable as well- from the first fart with the doctor lady I knew they would go out).

But Yoon Jae's flailing and whatnot out of aggression and frustration showed me that I'm just like him. lol.

....Whatever happened to the blind date girl though?

Let's move on to things that weren't predictable. Well there was actually only one thing...

THIS LITTLE GIRL RIGHT HERE. Looks like they got busy~ Forcing them to take Tae Woong's wedding date and honeymoon (serves him right!). They really were lucky the doctor was so nice. But not before Shi Won physically assaulted Yoon Jae for doing this to her (as expected). And poor Yoon Jae who was still half asleep didn't even know why he was being abused. But they got through it, and now mommy's little girl has become a fangirl of some idol much to Shi Won's delight. Like mother like daughter, I suppose. If that's the case, well poor Yoon Jae. Shi Won's dad tells her she'll finally understand what it was like to put up with a daughter like her when she's ripping down her own daughter's posters. I'd love to see that.

Oh! And who was in the red car that picked up Joon Hee at the end??? I GOTS TO KNOW.

Special mention to the Cassiopeia that is Tae Woong's wife, who missed the high school reunion as she was in Japan for a TVXQ concert. Finally, someone in the family Shi Won relates to! I just love how excited she got when Tae Woong mentioned his wife became the president of the fan club. Lucky her! I wonder how she took TVXQ becoming a 2 member band instead of a 5 member band (considering her favourite member was Junsu). As long as she didn't set fire to the reporter's car...haha. At least now Yoon Jae and Tae Woong have more in common.

The OST for this show was also really good. Especially Jung Eun Ji's and Seo In Guk's duets. Those two are just absolutely perfect together, like wow. No complaints about anything there.

And, to end on a happy note, I really loved the opening sequence. The music and the video clips were so well put together, and it was short and sweet.

If you have not watched this show as yet, I highly recommend it!

And before I go, if you have not seen K.Will's (who is a total sweetheart that we all should love btw) music video for Please Don't, you should go watch it. Reply 1997 fans should enjoy it, and not just because Seo In Guk is in it. ;)

Here's where I watched this show. You should watch it too if you haven't!!

Alexa's Favourites of 2012

Posted by Alexa Leigh at 23:24 0 comments
Looks like I wasn't lying when I said it was the start of my year of kpop, lol...

Anyways, today I'm here to talk about some of my favourite songs of 2012. There were many, and I'm sure I'll end up forgetting some, but I really want to record this somewhere so I figured why not.

Let's start~
(in no particular order)

G-DRAGON ~ Missing You

I actually started listening to G-DRAGON in 2012 (I heard Heartbreaker a while ago but I mean really listen to him). So far I have been extremely impressed with his songs and videos. ONE OF A KIND is a great mini album. I really like all of the songs from it. Missing You, while it does not have a music video, is one of my favourite tracks. It is the most recent song I heard from the album, and I fell in love as soon as the whistling started. Seriously. Plus their voices blend really well in my opinion, and the song has a sweet feeling to it. If I knew how to whistle this is what my family would be hearing every day.

SHINee ~ Stranger

My absolute favourite track off of their Sherlock album. It is just so catchy! During my exams in March/April I couldn't get this out of my head. The dance for this isn't as complex as Sherlock, but it's still fun to try to do (trust me, I've tried millions of times). I'm actually glad this didn't have a music video (I can't see that in my head at all), plus the live versions made up for that. I did not know there was a Japanese version of this song released before, so I only heard the Korean version. And from the time I heard the preview I knew it would be my favourite from this album. I was right- not that I'm complaining.

the GazettE ~ REQUIRED MALFUNCTION

DIVISION was downright perfect and if you think otherwise you're lying. The lack of single releases this year was paid for in full with songs like this on the album. With the other tracks (Yoin especially) I had to listen to them at least two times to like them as much as this one, but with REQUIRED MALFUNCTION it was love at first listen. This started out as my favourite on this album, and it still remains in that position. I remember how anxious I was to listen to this album on the 28th...the one day over the entire vacation I was forced to go out... :|

the GazettE ~ GABRIEL ON THE GALLOWS

GazettE again~ (I'm just going with my iPod's shuffle here) This song is another one off of DIVISION I fell in love with. The chorus is just PERFECTION. The lyrics aren't very happy, but this is such perfect headbang material. This is a song I wish there was a music video for! You know I barely ever realise on my own when a JRock song is in English unless I read the lyrics. This is one of those times... Anyways, like I said before, this album is perfection in the form of a cd and any argument is invalid. Ten years and the GazettE is still better than ever.

TaeTiSeo ~ OMG

Originally I didn't really care for Twinkle (a few listens later it grew on me though). This song however was TTS' saving grace for me. This one was really different in my opinion, and it was much appreciated. It's not really one that creeps unexpectedly into my head and refuses to leave, but nevertheless I still really love it and it's difference to other Kpop songs I've listened to in the past.

SHINee ~ Keeping Love Again

One of my favourites of SHINee's slower songs. I can't really explain why I like this one as much as I do, it's just one of those you can't help but love I guess. Their voices sound amazing as always in this song, especially Taemin's! Yes, I am biased. Hopelessly so. But I really appreciate how much Taemin is getting to sing in their songs of late. Keep it up, SM! These little comments are getting significantly shorter...hm.

Versailles ~ Truth

BECAUSE HELLO PERFECTION IN ALL ITS GLORY. Have you ever loved a song that's so happily-sad that you feel like ripping out your hair and sobbing in a corner when you hear it? Well that's what this song is for me. The music video isn't anything special, but come on, it's their last one as a band for a while. And they all look so pretty~ AND KAMIJO MAKING OUT WITH THE CHICKEN. BEST DINNER PARTY EVER. Plus the piano brings me to tears. This song is just the right length, and the chorus is perfect. The lyrics are very sad in my opinion, which one will not really be able to tell just by listening to this relatively happy sounding song. AND KAMIJO'S VOICE. Listen to each breath he takes throughout the song. Now listen to it again. I decided to listen to his breathing in this song once and now every time I listen to it I only hear him breathing. Blessing or curse? Hm.... Towards the end his voice sounds so sad though! (or is that just me hearing things?) But seriously though! I feel like crying again....

Versailles ~ Brave

Hurray~ A Versailles song that doesn't completely tear my heart in pieces~ This is the sort of song that really fits the title. Listening to the music alone gives me the image of a knight, especially the beginning and the end. I believe this one was composed by Teru, and he did not disappoint! From the previews of the album Kamijo posted this one was my absolute favourite. I prefer Truth over it now, but I still adore this one to pieces. The guitar is amazing in it! And the last note sung by Kamijo in the end....hnnnng! I need to hear this live, please.

Matenrou Opera ~ GLORIA

My personal favourite from Matenrou Opera for the year. The chorus is what really takes the cake for me. I don't know if it's the harmony or whatever it's called between Sono and the background voices or just the melody itself, but there's just something about it that sparks my interest. The music video is...different.... But look at all of the pretty lights!

EVOL ~ We Are A Bit Different

EVOL is a rookie group, and I must say they are showing a lot of potential! I hope they release more songs like this one, which gets stuck in my head a lot. And when I say it gets stuck in my head I mean the AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH YEEEEEAAAAAAAAAH OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH part. I don't really know the lyrics for the rest of the song. The music video was cool....Things were on fire and whatnot.... I'm pretty sure EVOL is my favourite rookie group at the moment. I can't wait to hear more from them.

HALLOWEEN JUNKY ORCHESTRA ~ HALLOWEEN PARTY

(I'm sorry I can't find a link for the full good quality song or video orz)
But this was literally a Jrock super group. Hyde and his Halloween events have never disappointed! Plus his costume, can you say hot? I actually copied his makeup for Halloween lol. The song itself is very Halloween-ish, and the music video makes me feel like going trick or treating. I honestly didn't know half these people in this video, and I still don't know some of them, but they all look so perfectly Halloweenish! Plus have I ever mentioned Hyde's voice is my all time favourite in the Jrock industry?

INFINTE ~ The Chaser

Kids, this is the story of how Sungyeol became my favourite INFINITE member. Not only was his outfit (AND SHOES UNF- I have a thing for male shoes) my favourite in this video (particularly the dance bits with this transparent jacket), but I also really like his hair and his face and his voice and his dancing. Actually I like all of their dancing and voices, but Sungyeol caught my eye. And this song is just so Kpop you just can't help but dance to it.

G-DRAGON ~ That XX

And we're back to G-DRAGON. As much as I love CRAYON, I love That XX even more. The music video is freaking genius. The beeps irritated me at first, but then I found a version without them and all was good. But now I know what the XX in the titles is supposed to be, and I really like the fact that he not only censored it in the video but in the title as well. And not the stupid kind of censoring where you still see the beginning and end of the word. I should get one of my friends to guess what the XX is supposed to be. That should be a good laugh.

2NE1 ~ I Love You
This song combines the ballad-y seriousness and slowness with the dance beat I love 2NE1 for. I love the music at the beginning of the song. It's so simple and perfect. Plus it sounds like they should have their legs exposed and doing a kind of bend dance thing. The music video is very pretty, with all the girls acting sad because the person they love isn't with them. And that big lotus thing is so cool! There's not much else to say about this song.... Except the catchy part towards the end "I love you every day..." When I say that is catchy I mean really catchy. It reminds me of the end of I AM THE BEST. Both parts I love a lot, by the way.

Well I think that about wraps up my favourite songs of 2012. I have a lot more favourites, but these are at the top of my list. I'm pretty sure I forgot some songs that I really love, but I'll have to live with that. This is a lot of people to tag for this post ._. I think I'll just tag the band...

Ayo 2013- Year of Kpop?

Posted by Alexa Leigh at 17:43 0 comments
I highly doubt I just heard a firework for god's sake new years is kind of over

Hello~ Today, January 1st 2013, SNSD released their new album I Got A Boy. From what I have seen so far, the reactions to the title track itself have been mixed. I guess it's one of those things you either love or hate. Personally, I usually listen to songs more than once because the first time I usually don't feel anything.

Anyways, after listening to the song a few times, I must say it's growing on me. Yes, it does sound like it's all over the place, and yes, some of the transitions could have been better (although those are growing on me too), but overall I'd still say it's a good song. The dancing is definitely on the better side, and the quality of the video itself is really good. And of course the girls all look amazingly stunning in their various outfits and hair colours, but who didn't expect that?

Actually, I think this opinion about the song itself came to me after watching this

Separately, all the different parts of the song are really good (in my opinion), but together, like I said before, they take some getting used to. But it all makes sense if you read the english lyrics. Basically,
1st: (the hip-hop swagger part) it's the mean girls who gossips about a girl they know who changed for the better cuz of a boy

2nd: (the catchy chorus part) THAT girl feels awesome because of his handsome boy

3rd: (Yoona&Hyoyeon rap) Hyoyeon tells Yoona not to reveal too much to that guy til you have fully taken his heart

4th: (Tiffany&Taeyeon part) they’re angry of the fact they can’t feel the same way THAT girl feels like, confused to what to do with their own boyfriends

-DrRan007
Moving on! Dancing Queen... This song was released not too long ago, and the music video was filmed during their Gee era. This song was originally Duffy's Mercy, but SM bought the rights to it like they did with a bunch of other songs. So, first of all, to everyone who was having a cow at the fact that it wasn't an original song, RELAX. People buy other peoples rights to songs all the time. And if the lyrics aren't the same then I see no problem, AND NO NEED TO COMPARE THEM.

The music video itself was very Gee-like, which I didn't mind. Gee was the song that made them really famous, after all. The dancing was very "look how sexy and cute we can be at the same time!!!!11!!!111". No but really, it was good, and the cat move thing was cute, but it's not one of my favourite dances.

Baby, Maybe- Apparently this song is another one that was bought from someone. Yes, this was originally a demo of Pixie Lott, called What You Do. Now I haven't heard the original version yet, but they are more or less the same. I know this song is going to draw a lot of attention because of that. The lyrics actually aren't the same (as far as I can tell), but they are still similar, so we'll see how this one goes.

It is one of the slower songs on the album, and I'm not a slower songs type of girl, but it's very girly and sweet and SNSD pulled it off.

Say The Words is one of my favourites off of this album. It just screams "femme fatale".... Well not fully, but it does in my head! Plus it's one of those songs where you could just tell legs will be showing when performed. So yay~~ It's short and catchy, which is perfect for people like me. Definitely going to be listening to this one more.

It's ballad time! Ah, Promise. Like I said before, I'm more into upbeat songs, but lately certain ballads have been creeping their way into my heart. I still prefer dance-worthy/head banging songs, but ballads are a lot prettier. This one in particular shows off SNSD's vocal talents, which is the main reason I listen to ballads. And you can just tell a live version of this song would bring tears to your eyes. I mean I'm not one to cry from songs, but this one is really beautiful nonetheless.

Express 999 is kind of like I Got A Boy in the fact that the chorus is really different from the actual verse. The transition here is...regular, I guess. This song probably isn't getting as much hate as IGAB because it's basically two different ...um...songs.

As soon as I heard the chorus I knew it would be a favourite. And it is one, just not the absolute. Maybe if it was catchier.....

Side note- apparently there is an anime of the same name. I need to remember to check that out later.

Lost In Love is another really pretty song. Taeyeon and Tiffany really do sound beautiful together. I know some people say their voices don't blend well, but I honestly don't hear that. I wouldn't mind if they did more duets together actually. And once again this is coming from a person who doesn't really care for ballads.

Wow, SNSD seems to really like having parts of their songs sound completely different to other parts. Look At Me starts off all rapping and like "hell yeah bitch we here to fuck shit up" and then BOOM- POWERPUFF GIRLS. The beat of this song is really interesting, and I quite like it. The lyrics are pretty catchy, and topped with the music makes it another one of my favourites.

XYZ is actually my absolute favourite at this moment in time. Yuri and Seohyun apparently wrote this one, and damn did they do a good job! I know I'll be singing this one for the rest of the month. Good job girls! It's another nice and short song, which I have no problem with. Not much else to say about this one, I keep getting distracted with singing it while I'm trying to think.

Listening to Romantic Road has me seeing pink fluffy hearts and flowers and parasols everywhere made of lace and shit. No but really, it's so positively girly. I love it. I can also see them in short trench coats holding the parasols while singing this. PLEASE, SM, PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN. (unlikely though...remember when we wanted SHINee to sing honesty live with an acoustic guitar and sitting on stools hahahahaaaa)
This song also makes me think of Sunny especially. I don't know, it just fits her voice and her face and her blonde hair (when it was blonde).
That's one thing- Sunny's voice really fits her face (unlike TOP's for some reason, especially how he looks in music videos with the whole "barely open my mouth" thing, when I first heard his voice I was like O__O).

So overall, I give this album 4/5 stars! If you haven't listened to this album yet, go do it now! It is definitely one I wouldn't regret buying. You go, GG! Thank you for starting off my year with KPop, I'll always appreciate that. I can't wait to see what you have in store for us this year. SNSD fighting!! (does that make me sound like a koreaboo though?)
